Ian has spent his entire life around high-level soccer. From growing up around the great DC United teams of the 90's to the 2002 U.S. World Cup Team and the most recent LA Galaxy dynasty, Ian has seen it all. He went on himself to play NCAA Division I soccer at the University of Illinois-Chicago where he was part of three NCAA Tournament teams. After graduating he had training stints with the Portland Timbers and LA Galaxy before deciding to pursue a career outside of playing but within the sport. Ian spent two years working for Wasserman Media Group where he represented players within their global soccer department.

Itching to get back onto the field he decided to join arguably the most successful MLS youth academy, the LA Galaxy. It was there that he cut his coaching teeth working with the u-14 and u-18 teams. During his time with the academy he was part of the staff that participated in the Dallas Cup Super Group where they competed against top clubs from all over the world. In 2013 he was offered the opportunity to become the assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin and work under his college coach, John Trask. While at Wisconsin he helped guide the Badgers back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 18 seasons. In addition to Wisconsin, Ian was invited to coach with the u-17 U.S. Men's National Team during their July 2014 training camp.

Most recently Ian was named assistant coach at Santa Clara University, one of the most historic programs in NCAA college soccer, just COMPLETING his first season.
